Vision statement
We desire to make disciples of Jesus Christ, who are zealous to spread the glory of God to the ends of the earth.
Core Biblical Truths
We desire to glorify the Triune God in everything we do and this will only happen as we find our satisfaction in Jesus alone. [Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Isaiah 42:8; 48:11; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 10:31; Philippians 3:7-8; Hebrews 12:28-29; 13:20-21]
We believe the Scriptures are foundational for the Christ-treasuring life when “cut straight” and used under the control of the Holy Spirit. We must long for, meditate on and live out the Word of God. In the Scriptures we have been given everything needed for the God-ward life. [Psalm 119; Romans 15:4; Colossians 3:16 (Ephesians 5:18); 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16-17]
We believe the family is the God-ordained foundation of society. Therefore husbands, as the God-ordained head of their home, must be leading their families and loving their wives in a Spirit-filled, Christ-like manner. Wives, in turn, must be submitting to and respecting their own husbands in the power of the Spirit. Children must obey their parents for this honors God. Parents, by God’s design, are the primary teachers of biblical truths for their own children. [Genesis 1:28; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Ephesians 5:22-6:4; Colossians 3:18-21]
We believe that God has commanded His church to go into all the world and make disciples. Because of this command, we want to be disciple-makers here and across the globe. Our goal is to make Christ known and for Him to be glorified through us. Since the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only truth that can reconcile unbelievers with God, it is imperative for repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ to be proclaimed to all the ethne [nations]. [Matthew 28:18-20; John 14:6; Acts 4:10-12; 20:20-21; Romans 1:16; 10:5-17; Revelation 5:9-10]
We desire for the body of Christ to function properly; therefore believers must be equipped to do the work of ministry by using their God-given spiritual gifts. As followers of Jesus, we must be diligent to exhort and encourage each other and at times rebuke and correct one another. This must be done in a spirit of humility and love as we are empowered by the Holy Spirit. [1 Corinthians 12-14; Galatians 6:1-5; Ephesians 4:1-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15]
We desire to passionately love the Triune God with every fiber of our being. Out of this love for God will flow an unquenchable love for our neighbor. [Luke 10:25-37; Acts 20:35; Galatians 6:10; 1 John 3:16-18]
As the leaders of Bethany Bible Church we desire to move the church according to these core Biblical truths; while being driven by the vision to unleash disciples of Jesus Christ who are zealous to spread the glory of God to the ends of the earth.
